Professional Development In-Person Workshops

Implementing Primary Mathematics Using the Singapore Approach
Explore the key foundations that make Singapore’s approach to mathematics #1 in the world with an in-depth session focusing on pedagogy and practice. Participants will explore the fundamentals of Singapore’s approach and learn how to implement them using Primary Mathematics through chapter and lesson planning, model lessons and more. Available K-6 as an in-person event or a virtual webinar and may be customized for specific grade level bands.

Seeing It In Action
Through demonstration lessons, teachers can observe their own students working with a Singapore Math specialist through an entire lesson on a specific topic. Teachers can reflect on their own practice and even co-teach to refine their own mathematical teaching skills. These in-person lessons include collaborative planning, no more than 3 demonstration lessons in a day, and time to reflect on student data after the lesson.

Enhancing Your Practice
Dive into mathematical content with a specialty training that focuses on a specific practice. These in-person or virtual sessions provide educators with a broader view of content beyond their grade level allowing them to see how students of varying levels progress through the learning objectives as a whole. Topics can include fact fluency, bar modeling, heuristics, number sense, fractional thinking, multiplicative thinking, metacognition and discourse. Each session can be customized to your students’ specific needs.

Differentiation, Intervention, and Remediation
This customizable session focuses on providing different avenues for learning using Primary Mathematics for intervention, extension, multilingual learners and/or students with identified special needs. By studying specific instructional strategies and content designed to meet a wide variety of learners, participants will learn how to use Singapore Math strategies as a core to meet diverse learners or as an effective supplement to any core program.
